Lemon Decorated Drink Pouches

Great Project to Make for Kids or Adults

These drink pouches are fun to decorate for family parties and all kinds of get-togethers. When I heard a couple of the grandkids might be coming to spend the weekend I decided to whip up a few more. This way I could have some ready for a cool and refreshing treat.

I made some of these in a previous post, so you can go HERE to check them out. Because I created a full tutorial in the previous post, I’m only going to share my supplies and SVG for this post.

You only need a few tools and supplies and these drink pouches go together quickly and easily.

About the Blank Drink Pouches

I purchased the pouches on Amazon. You get a large pack and they are very inexpensive. I’ve tested out the zipper seal on these and they are great, they didn’t leak. The bags stand up when filled. Plus you get a colorful bunch of re-usable bendy straws to make it even more fun. They make the perfect blank for adding vinyl.

What a great way to add fun to a party. You could even use them for malt or smoothy for a cool treat later in the day.

Vinyl for Your Drink Pouches

You’ll want to use permanent vinyl for your pouches. I used Oracal 651, which is a permanent vinyl. You may be able to remove the vinyl for a short time after the application. Be sure to burnish your vinyl to completely adhere it to the drink pouch, and let it cure for 48 hours. Handwashing is the best choice for these bags, but they are reusable.

I purchase my permanent vinyl in 5-foot rolls from Expressions Vinyl. This vinyl works well with both my Silhouette Cameo 4 and my Cricut Maker and weeds easily.

The clear transfer tape I used was also from Expressions Vinyl and works great for small decals like this.

You’ll need your other tools like scissors, weeding tools, and cutting machine mats. This is a pretty simple vinyl application.

You’re working with a small area, so you’ll want to keep your designs simple. If you have subscriptions to the Silhouette Design Store or Cricut Access, be sure to check those for images to inspire your creativity. Look up drink recipes that go along with themes like a watermelon cooler or something special for a poolside theme.

Here are a few Silhouette Design Store Images to spark your creativity. There are many, many to choose from!
