Whimsical Christmas Card with Silhouette Sketch Pen
Christmas cards are on the list today. It’s been forever since I really worked on cards, but now that the weather is cooler I’ve been spending a little more time at it. This one was inspired by a Pinterest Pin, in that it has sketch houses drawn on kraft cardstock. I like that the Christmas look is achieved without having to go out and buy Christmas paper.
The card was part experiment and a little bit of trial and error. The little Santa and sleigh is from the Silhouette store and I cut it out on my Cameo. Unfortunately there was too much detail for such a small cut, so I offset it and eliminated some of the details for this card. That made it much easier to work with. I was able to get it cut out and adhered without a problem.
I’ve barely used my sketch pens, so I pulled them out for these adorable little houses.
I ungrouped the images so that I could offset each one, draw and cut them out separately. I think they are adorable in the kraft cardstock and stand out against the torn, white background. They can also be found in the Silhouette Store.
The little tree I created myself by drawing shapes and welding. It gives a little more dimension by adding to the foreground of the little scene.
The stamp is from Stamps of Life and I think it is a great match for this card.
A few enamel dots and Diamond Stickles add the the Christmas look.
Let me know if you enjoy this card and thanks for stopping by today.
