Summer Word Art in Silhouette Studio

Hello again! This summer word art was so much fun to make that I wanted to share it with you.

I have to tell you a little background story though. My son is a thrift store shopper. I guess I taught him well.

But within the last couple of weeks he brought home a Laser printer that was in incredible shape. I guess if you go often enough, you can find some real treasures.

I was pretty impressed with a photo that he printed out. Then it dawned on me that I might be able to make some neat prints of my own.

Anyway, today I printed out my summer word art that I created in Silhouette Studio and I thought it turned out very cute! How ’bout you?

I’m going to admit that I’m being a little lazy with the photography today. What you see is what you get. These aren’t even on premium paper.

There were some colors that I would change if I did it all over again. While on my screen the green words were all different, they sort of turned out looking quite a bit alike. So in my second copy I changed them a little.

One of the things to keep in mind is that the screen rendering of color can be way different than the real thing.

Customize Your Summer Word Art

Use the advance fill options in Silhouette Studio

When working on your summer word art, you can use the advanced fill settings for your text.

In your right fill settings panel go to Advanced Options and put in the RGB code for the color of your fill. RGB stands for Red, Green, Blue.

But where do you get the numbers?

One of my favorite sites is Color Hex. You can find a link to it HERE.

Simply find your color, open the link, and you’ll find the various codes for that particular color. Then you can copy down the RGB code and fill in the spots in the Advanced Options for fill color. You can see where these are located in the above photo.

Isn’t it neat to have a totally customizable piece of art?

I’ve created a video that takes you through a little bit of the process of creating your own summer word art. You could make a new printable for every season, special occasions and more.

The sky is the limit!

I would love your feedback! Comment on the video or link to my Facebook page and share a photo of your own word art. Would love to see your creations.
