Mojo Monday 448 Silhouette Sketch Pen Card
Hello friends!! Today I made a sweet Silhouette sketch pen card for my grandson’s birthday and had a whole lot of fun using my Silhouette Cameo. Far from perfection, but then again learning is half the fun right? I used the MOJO Monday 448 sketch for some inspiration.
First I drew this sketch of a zebra from Silhouette Design Studio using the sketch pen in Silhouette. I used a black watercolor pencil to shade in the stripes. I made a bit of space around him using the “Offset” function. At first I accidentally sketched a line around with the pen, so there is a bit of ink along that cutout line, but now I know how to fix that next time.
I really love that Offset function for layers. I think it really helps me to get the various layers correctly sized, like when I did the little scallop circle layer for the “5”.
I used some Aleene’s Fast Grab Tacky Glue for gluing down my number. It holds well, dries fast, no puckering and just seemed to meet the need I had at the time. I’d purchased it for a 4-H felt puppet class that I taught awhile ago and it has been handy a few times now.
While I don’t have a photo here, I wrote Happy Birthday on the inside and personalized it with his name. I also used the Cameo with the sketch pens for that.
Well, I need to get a stamp on my envelope and get this card in the mail. Thanks for stopping by and we’ll see you again soon.
Your grandson will love this fun card! So glad you were able to join us at Mojo Monday!
