My Top 3 Online Learning Platforms

I have a high regard for learning. Not just learning skills for a career, but also lifetime learning. That’s why I wanted to talk about online learning platforms.

I’ve learned many things as a mom of eight kids. Some of our kids eventually went to brick and mortar school, but all of them were home educated at some point.

I’m proud of every one of them because they all are very motivated learners.

Learning to Create with Online Learning

As an older adult learner nothing beats taking a class. It’s a wonderful way to connect with the learning process, making it so much easier to learn.

The front of my planner says, “Do more of what makes you happy.” I love making things for my home and family and constantly learning new skills.

I find that it can be expensive and very time consuming to take a class. How about you?

That’s why I’ve come to really love learning with the videos on the online learning platforms.

Today I wanted to share my three favorite online learning platforms and some of the classes that I’ve taken.

#1 Bluprint

I was a fan of Bluprint back when they were still Craftsy. I’ve been a member there for a LONG time. I’ve purchased patterns, downloaded free patterns and taken classes.

Bluprint allows you to dive into anything you’ve ever dreamed about learning. Dance, yoga, home decorating, artisan baking as well as all your favorite crafts.

Everything on Bluprint is presented by skilled professionals and artists and delivered in a very relaxing and fun way.

Some of my latest favorites are:

  • Doodle Wars
  • Silhouette Savvy: Venture into Vinyl
  • The Midnight Quilt Show
  • Marvelous Mixed Media Techniques
  • All About Flat Lay (photography)

Do any of those sound good to you? Perhaps you’ll find some of your own favorites!

Check out some cards I made with doodles. I even taught a doodle class for my local 4-H family learning day.

#2 Skillshare

Skillshare is an online learning community with thousands of classes in design, technology, business, creativity and lifestyle.

I’ve only been a member of Skillshare for about 6 months but I want to share with you why I think it’s one of the most powerful learning platforms.

One of the coolest things you’ll notice about Skillshare is the emphasis on community. It’s very motivating to have the opportunity to create a class project and share your projects with the rest of the class.

Skillshare also offers a unique opportunity to be able to create your own classes and earn money by sharing your expertise with others. Wouldn’t it be awesome to create your own online class?

Some of my favorites in Skillshare right now are centered around learning Adobe Illustrator and Photo Shop. I’m also learning about content creation, SEO, affiliate marketing and all the things I’d wish I’d known sooner about blogging.

But there is a cost right?

You can get a month long trial to Skillshare, plus you can share this amazing platform with your friends to earn free months to help save you money. If you sign up for the annual plan Skillshare is only $8.25.

How I wish I would have had Skillshare back when I was homeschooling my kids!!

Your Skillshare membership will more than pay for itself. Try Skillshare.

#3 Creative Bug

Would you like to have over 1000 classes to help you explore your creative side?

What! You think you don’t have a creative side?

It’s just not true to believe that you aren’t creative. Creativity comes by exploring, playing and experimenting. This is exactly the strength of Creative Bug.

Creative Bug is another wonderful online learning platform and a very colorful and fun platform to explore! A couple of things I really love are the challenges and the daily practice. Creative Bug has new releases all the time and you”ll never run out of learning opportunities.

One of my favorite things about Creative Bug is how inexpensive it is! Plus you can earn credits for referring your friends.

Some of my latest favorites at Creative Bug are Planners 101, and Piecing Large-Scale Patchwork Quilts. I”m also planning on jumping into the Dear Diary Quilt Challenge.

Learn, Get Inspiration, Make Money from Your Hobbies

I think one of the best things that has happened in the past year is that I’ve been able to step out of my comfort zone, teach craft classes locally and start growing an Etsy Shop and Youtube channel.

While I’m not earning a full time income, I’ve been moving in a positive direction. Who knows where it will take me. There are many people with small beginnings who have grown their passions into profit.

If you need some inspiration, I’d encourage you to take a look at some online learning opportunities. You may not be interested in making money, but maybe you can craft some new experiences and enjoy creating for your home and family.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful day!
