Fast and Fun Easel Card
Hope you had a wonderful weekend. I traveled to western Wisconsin to teach a basketry class and enjoyed every minute of my time. It was a beautiful drive through the Wisconsin Driftless area.
Today I wanted to share a sweet little easel card with you.
I used the following stamps and paper:
- CTMH City Sidewalks paper
- Joy to You and Me stamp set by CTMH
- Sentiment stamp from Stamps of Life.
- A Darice embossing folder
- Coordinations Card stock
I had a great time making this card, and I love the little surprise element when it is opened.
How to Fold and Design The Card
I made this card by using the horizontal orientation of a blank card, and cutting away the outside layer, leaving just a 2 1/4″ panel.
There is about a 3/4 inch side strip to the left where I layered red and the small top strip from a piece of the City Sidewalks paper. I also fastened it down so that only the mid section pops when opened.
The right panel is stamped with a Stamps of Life stamp and I ran just the top portion through my Cuttlebug with a Darice snowflakes embossing folder. I used tape runner to fasten this down, as I only wanted the mid section to be on display.
The little easel portion, which was created with the Joy to You and Me stamps, is my favorite.
I stamped and cut each little house out separately, stamped the lamppost and snowflakes right on the designer paper and stamped that tiny little dog in front of the red house. I had to make sure he got back in the folder. I’d hate to lose him.
This is a sweet and versatile set of stamps. I created a fun little scene underneath my front panel. A couple little rhinestones hold up the panel when the card is open.
That’s it for today. Thanks for joining me and have a great week!
