Dollar Store Charger plate to Home Decor

Today I’m going to share with you how I created this awesome fall home decor plate with a simple plate from the Dollar Tree. You can also make a piece that is uniquely yours with a scrap of vinyl, your Silhouette or other cutting machine and some spray paint. Home decor has never been easier.

Cutting Oramask stencil vinyl with the Silhouette Cameo is a breeze. In addition, I absolutely love the crisp, clean lines that can be achieved with using it. I was working on another sign, had a small scrap of Oramask left from trimming, and I knew just the place I wanted to try it. I wasn’t sure it would work, but it was well worth the risk.

(Keep in mind that this is a project for decorative purposes only and not for use in serving food.)

First I’ve applied my Oramask stencil. Then I used some cheap shelf liner to mask the rest of the plate. You really need to do this so that you don’t have over spray on the rest of the plate, however, masking tape and paper would also work.

I had black Rust-Oleum from another project.

I sprayed a few quick, light coats… leaving about 10 minutes to dry in between.

I allowed the paint to dry completely and removed the stencil. There you have it!

I’m very happy with it. The lines are nice and crisp with no paint bleed and it’s a nice addition to my hallway table.

So glad you joined me. Let me know what you think of this project and blessings on your day!
