Hi! I’m Connie
I’m the creator behind Say It With Simplicity. I love making digital designs, especially SVG files that can be used by the home crafter as well as those growing a small business.
Some of these SVG files I sell in my Etsy shop. Other’s I share as freebies on the blog.
I Love to Create
I’m a lifelong crafter. Growing up in a rural area, I had to learn how to be resourceful. I learned at a young age how to sew, knit and crochet, embroider and more.
When my own children were young, I became interested in basket weaving. Teaching myself how to weave baskets wasn’t necessarily an easy task, especially in pre-internet days. But I did it! I sold baskets on Etsy as well as locally. As time went on, I was asked to teach basketry classes. I’ve taught classes for homeschoolers, 4-H, and small groups at folk schools and nature centers.
How I got Started at Digital Design
I purchased my first cutting machine in 2009, a Cricut Mini.
Are you hooked on cutting machine crafts?
Me too! I love crafting with paper and vinyl. I also love creating wood signs.
As I learned more and more about crafting with my cutting machines, I began to explore the tools in Silhouette Studio. I also took courses on how to use Adobe Illustrator. Recently, I also began exploring Inkscape as a tool for creating digital designs.
Encouragement for the Creative Journey
Whether you make gifts for your home and family or you branch out into small business, I’d like to encourage you in your crafting journey. It’s never too late to learn new skills with which to bless your home and family.
I would also like to help you to learn how to use your cutting machine and find the best crafting resources.
My husband and I started selling home decor signs at local markets and found a new avenue of income as well as a fun hobby that we could work on together.
So whether you craft for your own personal use, or choose to open a small business, continue to learn, grow and enjoy your craft. I’d love to see your creations in my new Facebook group! Be sure to join and post.
