Retro Sketches #176: Sailboat Card

Good morning! What a gorgeous day to live in Wisconsin.

We have school registrations today and Friday. Hard to believe that summer is coming to an end so swiftly. Even so, I decided to sneak in another summer card and play along with Retro Sketches. What a simple and fun sketch!

Most of the card was made with scraps from my scrap bin and a really inexpensive birthday stamp that I picked up awhile ago. The sailboat came from the Cricut “Just Because Cards”.

Better keep sailing. Hope you have a blessed rest of the week!

Mojo Monday 410: A Taste of Fall

It’s Mojo Monday! I haven’t done a Mojo Monday card in awhile, so I decided to give it a try today. I was a fun and easy sketch. I decided to go with an autumn card. I’m not ready to give up on summer, but time keeps marching on.

The papers are from the Paper Fundamentals, Enchantment Assortment from Close To My Heart. The stamp is from Hot Off the Press. On my list is a set of nice markers, but since I don’t have any, I decided to fill in with colored pencil. I added a little bit of Stickles Star Dust for a little shine. The sentiment is stamped with CTMH Smokey Plum. I love it and can’t wait to use it some more.

That’s it for today! Have a wonderful week and we’ll see you next time!

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #257: Sunflower Get Well Card

Good Morning! Hope you’re having a wonderful week.

Today I decided to Seize the Sketch over at the Fantabulous Cricut Blog and make a Thinking of You/Get Well card for a friend of mine who is in the hospital.

Cuttlebug Ben-Day Dots was used as the primary background for this card. The sunflower is from Cricut Stretch Your Imagination and cut at about 2″. The leaves are from Cricut Font and Basic Shapes. I thought sponging a bit with some distress ink would give it a little more depth. I adhered a little foam tape under the sunflower to give it some dimension. The sequins are, believe it or not, from the Dollar Tree.

On the inside, not shown, I stamped “Better Get Better” from the Cardz TV Mixed Messages set of stamps. The lattice piece is from Cricut Ribbons and Rosettes. I adhered a couple of tiny sunflowers and for the centers I used some brown sequins from the same pack that I purchased at Dollar Tree.

That’s it for today. If you have any questions about this card please feel free to leave a comment below. Hope you have a wonderful rest of the week and we’ll see you next time!
