I really love this week’s inspiration from the Color Throwdown challenge. The colors are perfect for spring and Mother’s Day!
Today I decided to pull out some papers and sequins from my Close To My Heart Workshops on the Go “Blossom” Card Making Kit. I also used some CTMH Pixie Cardstock. The stamps are from the Happy to Be Friends and Happy Hello sets.
For embellishment I decided to go with some ribbon from the Really Reasonable Ribbon Club. I just received my first pack this week and really love the styles and colors. Can’t wait to use more of it!
Thanks for stopping by today and hope you have a great rest of the week!
Good Saturday afternoon! Wasn’t this color throwdown a fun one?! I’ve been enjoying all the neat cards. Nice and bright for summer.
I was so excited when the new Taste of Summer pack from Close To My Heart arrived the other day and I first got a glimpse of the bright papers and cute stamps. I knew I had to get busy with this challenge! I have a quilt in the making with yellows, blacks and whites and I’m sewing it on one of my vintage sewing machines which is gold, black and gray. So yep, I’m a little partial to this color combo.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Fun stuff. My first vintage machine.
When my husband left for work this morning I told him that today was a housework day and I wasn’t planning any crafting. I’m not sure he believed me. Wonder why?
I actually had my Mojo Monday card done on Monday. Trust me, I’m not this late for church or appointments.
I’ve actually done quite a bit of basket weaving for a historical weekend that’s coming up soon. Yesterday I finished four baskets. This is just one little one that needs to be cleaned up a bit and stained. And behind is our newest vintage sewing machine purchase that needs to be cleaned up and moved out of my way. We’re at three now. I think this is the limit for our house. Hah!
Anyway, here is the card. I’ve been working on some little tags to mark my baskets with also. Hmm, a birthday card and matching gift tag. What an idea! Doesn’t usually happen here. The papers are from the chalk board pack from We R Memory Keepers. Such a cute pack!
Gotta run! See you next time and have a great weekend.

Our Wisconsin weather took several turns today. First it was cold, windy and rainy. For awhile the sun came out. Tonight there was snow mixed with a little rain. Just a good day to stay inside, wrap your hands around a cup of hot cocoa and maybe do a little crafting.
This was just one of my cards for today. I used the Happy Birds set from Close To My Heart. I really enjoy this set and keep finding ways to use it. Today I stamped the small flower all over my white card with Slate ink. Then I took a Q-Tip and quickly highlighted all the flowers with Thistle and Canary. I stamped the sentiment panel in Pear and Pacifica Inks.
Pear and Slate card stocks were used for layering the sentiment and Canary for layering the flowered panel. All of the card stocks used are available in the Adventure Combo Pack.
I felt the whole card was missing a little something, so I stamped one of the birds on Pacifica card stock using my VersaMark ink pad and then embossed with white embossing powder. Dimensional adhesive was used to mount the bird on the card.
So that’s my rainy day recipe. Thanks for joining me today and I hope you “have a beautiful day” wherever you are!

Good afternoon! I decided to make a card for color throwdown challenge today. I love the look of kraft cardstock cards and so I was really glad to see this color combo.
I decided to try to use some older stamps and supplies. I also decided to do some heat embossing, something that is improving the more and more I try it. I used some green from the new Blossom pack from CTMH to emboss the white dots. The flower and sentiment are also heat embossed.
That’s it for today. Have a wonderful week and see you next week!
It’s been a busy week, but I did manage to get in some card crafting. I’m excited about some new Close to My Heart stamps that I ordered and also a new Stamps of Life Set. I decided to use Operation Write Home Sketch for a few new cards.
OWH Sketch 252
The first two cards were made with Hopscotch paper from Close To My Heart. I used stamps primarily from the new Blossom Card Making Workshop.
The last card was made with a few paper scraps and a Cricut cutout. The “You’re Tweet” is from stamps of life. I did some heat embossing on the sentiment.
A sneak peak at a couple other cards.
It seems to be April showers around here, which is good because without some of the snow that other parts of the country had this winter, it was pretty dry here. The only downside is it is too cool and rainy to do much outside. I tend to get a little stir crazy when it’s like that. It’s also a little disappointing because my husband decided to buy me a new bike and I’ve only had one chance to ride it so far. I’ll be looking for brighter days to come soon!
Since I was thinking about bikes, I decided to make a card for Color Throwdown with a new stamp set I got from The Stamps of Life stamp club. This is the first time I used these and I’d have to say that they are a very nice quality stamp and I’m looking forward to using this set again. The sentiment is great for those now-and-then notes of encouragement that are nice to send.
I threw together this card with some scraps of Close To My Heart papers that I had from other projects. The sketch was one from the Annual Inspirations Idea Book. The idea book is such a great way to find ideas for cards. Love it! The Junebug Puffie butterflies added a little sparkle to the project.
This was such a fun challenge to join this week. Love the colors and always love kraft paper. I especially enjoy seeing all the wonderful cards everyone makes. Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you again soon!
