I was late getting started at a Mojo Monday card. Seems I had some sort of quick but nasty virus which I’m recuperating from. Yesterday I was out flat for the entire day. Today I’m doing a bit better, but ready to take a little nap, I think.
My grandson’s birthday is this week, and so I decided to use Mojo Monday as an inspiration for his card. I probably won’t ever get this many candles on a cake card again, but I was pretty certain I wouldn’t hear the end of things if there weren’t seven of them. It’s his golden birthday, so it was well worth the extra effort!
I love some of the new paper I just got from Close To My Heart. The papers for this card were from the My Reflections Brushed, and My Reflections Confetti Wishes. I cut the candles and cake out on my Cricut Mini and layered things up a bit to create the cake. I decided no scrap is too small, since the little banner on the bottom panel comes from, what I want to call, the selvage edge of the paper. Maybe there’s another name. I just don’t know it.
A little foam tape was used to layer the candles a bit. I decided to add a little happy birthday banner at the bottom and used some canary to ink the edges a bit.
I really like how colorful this is. Perfect for a kid card!
See you next time and have a wonderful week.
