OWH Sketch Challenge #235

I had the base of the card for the Operation Write Home Sketch #235 done on Monday, but finally did the sentiment today. I actually have a new pumpkin stamp that I thought would look really nice, but decided to go with the “Thinking of You” sentiment instead. Originally I had the sentiment stamped on white, but decided to try heat embossing on the darker background, something I’m not real good at yet. I also changed the gold embellishments to the silver to match the embossing.

The patterned background papers are from Hot Off the Press, Rich and Spicy Collection and I LOVE them! The solid cardstocks are from the Jim Holtz, Nostalgic Collection. There are so many great colors for fall in the pack!

I’m excited because today I was contacted by a local 4-H group to do basket weaving demos and vendor at an upcoming history event, so I’m sure the next several weeks are going to fly as I prepare.

OWH Sketch Challenge #233

I hadn’t done an OWH sketch challenge in awhile, so I wanted to sit down and make a card despite the fact that the next couple weeks are going to be BUZY with our daughter’s wedding and all!

Since I’d cut so many butterflies the other day, I decided to use a few more. The top section under the butterflies is a piece of vellum.

I had a chance to play with my Cuttlebug again and embossed some little flowers on the white background and put some tiny stones in the center of three of them.

Since I didn’t get my sentiment as centered as I liked, maybe I’ll fix that on another card. Amazing how photography tells all!

Sailor Boy Card

I couldn’t resist posting a picture of the latest card. The coastal image of the little boy with his toy boat is from The Graphics Fairy.

I printed a compass rose on the card and embellished with items from my stash and the wheel from a Navy set of embellishments from a local craft shop.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope to see you again soon!
